LAYOUT UPDATE #9b

this video shows tentative places for my industries. the track is not secure as of yet, still doing a bit of tweaking. over all the track is going down as per my drawing. one thing is for sure, no matter how much room you have, you always need more. I don't know why the camera kept going out of focus towards the end. I also mis named Phoenix as STP it actually is SFP Plastics. sorry these old eyes are going out...lol. enjoy the vid & as always your comments, questions & subs are welcome
thanks for watching

I have completed about 85% of the frame work in the second room. I ran out of materials & I didn't want to run out to get the lumber & hardware. tomorrow is another day. depending on how I feel I might do another update this weekend  so stay tuned
comments & subs are welcome as well as questions
thanks for watching !!!!

UPDATE #8..."THE TEST FIT" !!!!!

before I build the frame work, I first mark the floor as per my drawing. then I layout the track plan. this gives me the chance to make any mods to the frame work & I did. examples are, I narrowed the section where the 2 lumber yards are & also narrowed the IM yard. both sections where narrowed by 5". this gives me a wider aisle way. the section at n. Glendale was widened by 2" to accommodate the 5 industries that will be there. I can't believe I have used up all the track I had so far.

UPDATE #7

this is a short video of my progress this past weekend. all my yard track is down permanently, unfortunately, I ran out of materials to complete the roads & ground throws. I have some grounds throws coming this week. enjoy the vid.

thanks for watching!!!

NEW TOYS & UPDATE 6 26 13

I DON'T KNOW WHY THE ENDS OF THESE CLIPS ARE BEING CUT OFF.

THANKS FOR WATCHING
BNSF6951.....OUT!!!!

first test run at Phoenix Industrial Park...I have lots of bugs to work out, i guess that's why they call it a test run. setting cars out at Phoenix Cement & Flex Foam were cut out...over all it wasn't too bad. a camera person would have been nice, it 'a hard to run a train & video at the same time. during the running, i did not narrate but, there will be captions of what's going on. there was no switch list, i just picked a few cars & blocked them...the blocking will be done at Mobest yard by the yard crew
thanks for watching. comments are welcome as well as input & questions. subscribe to my channel to see future updates.
all my storage tanks were done by Elvin Howland at layoutconcepts@yahoo.com

UPDATE #5

more progress on my layout a little money saving tip & a test run around Mobest yard. I am also testing one of my new dc locos, a Kato sd70mac. none of the track is secured yet, I see a change i want to do, change one of my cross-overs from a left to a right.
my bad on the last move, I was going to the right track to begin with. I also didn't show the moves to the industries to the south of the yard. thanks for watching.
TYPO IN THE ROLLING INTRO..SUPPOSED TO TEST NOT TEAT

update #4.... yard trackage!!!!

i have been messing around test fitting my yard & surrounding industry tackage..so far everything is working out as per my drawing. i stand corrected for miss- naming one of my industreis it's SAN PLUMBING SUPPLY not SUN...the area to the right of "FLEX FOAM" i will be adding some more frame work so i can put a few sky-scrapers to represent phoenix proper.i also added some LED lighting & a piece of back drop at the hole in the wall
enjoy the video & thanks for watching

hello to all...i am in the process of tearing down my layout...this is a follow up video to ERIC HALL"S (IMRRO,com) video that was done the day on the before. unfortuneately i am not able to upload the video we did together but Eric will be posting the edited version on his channel in about 3-4 weeks.we had a little bit of fun while doing the vid. so, if you have not subscribed to his channel, check him out & subscribe.. he has lots of great stuff & how to's. posted
i want to thank Eric for making the 40 mile drive to document my final run & a final look at my layout
this video is #2 of my progress of tearing down my layout.( it is a follow up to Erics video ).this video shows all the structures off the layout & packed away except for one ( need a box) it also shows the final run back to Mobest yard. of corse my layout didn't let me down, i had a derailment in the last 2 feet of the run ( i did not delete the derailment)...the cause is from unsecured points ( no tortoise or groung throws)
stay tuned for more on my tear down vids
thanks for watching & as always comments, subs & questions are welcome
for now BNSF6951....out

NEW TRACK PLAN FOR MY PEAVINE SUB

hello to all
i am currently in the process of buying a home. while i am waiting for all the papers to be signed, inspection & appraisal to be done, i have occupied myself by drawing up a new track plan for my BNSF Peavine sub. this layout will occupy 2 rooms 1 bedroom & the den that is adjacent to the bedroom.the bedroom measures 11ft.x 11ft & the dens common wall ( with the bedroom) measures 11ft x 9.5 ft w & the final measurement is the left wall of the den @ 13 ft. i intend to go through the wall that separates the 2 rooms giving me a run of approximately 19 ft.on the lower level & the same with the upper level.
i am attaching the drawings of my new track plan to get some comments & suggestions. i am using ME code 55 flex track & a combo of Atlas & ME turnouts. the scale of the drawing is 1 inch = 1 Ft. & is not 100% accurate. i will be using a helix kit that i will be purchasing from an ebay vender. the helix is built for double main line with an out side radius of 16.5" & inside radius of 15" @ a 2% grade. spacing between levels = 2". measurement of the kit = 36" by 15".
so here are the pics...let me know what you all think

thanks ...vinny

this is a short slide show on how iinstalled coboose hobbies grond throws.i have watched many videos from people on various sites do installs to operate their manual turnouts.there where many good ideas but they all had some sort of cable or rod coming through their facsias. i didn't want to clutter up my facsia with cables and / or rods. so i came up with the video on how i did the install. more text in the slide show.
i am also showing a test run showing the ground throw operation
thanks for watching. comments & questions are welcome. i forgot to mention an importatnt item...the ground throws...

MY FIRST PERSONAL OP SESSION

being bored today i decided to switch out a couple of my industries. i found that i have a couple of issues with my turnouts.the locos stall going over the frogs. a couple of feeder wires will fix that. i was not able to get the uncoupling on video because i was doing everything by my self ( running the train, videoing & operating the manual turnouts.)
the bnsf unit will be renumbered
enjoy the video & as always, your comments, questions & subs are welcome.

thanks for watcing

SCRATCH BUILD ON A BUDGET

this is one of my scratch builds. it is not prototypical because i decided to build it as a 2 story stucture.most of the industries are single story concrete tip ups. it's my railroad..right????? the wall are constructed of different thickness styrene in 2 sections ( upper & lower) if you go back on a couple of my vids, you will see the mock up as a single story structure. i wanted something a bit taller. enjoy the slide show
your comments, subs & questions are always wecome

hello every one...these are some pics of the latest addition to my layout.they were made for my "Phoenix Plastics" industry by Elvin Howland of layout concepts ( layoutconcepts@yahoo.com) i have contracted Elvin to do all the tanks on my layout. to date, Elvin has made 50+ tanks for me & i am very happy & pleased with the outcome. Elvin also scratch builds structures.
the second addition are the trees. these trees are native to the phoenix area, they are called "Palos Verde" they were custom made for me by Bob Lacey of Longshadows (trains56@yahoo.com) at this point, Bob has made about 50 trees for me. he will be doing more for me in the future. if you need trees give Bob a shout out
